Green Sand Casting in Mexico
AMC Foundry specializes in green sand casting for gray and ductile iron components, serving OEM manufacturers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Our green sand casting process uses automated Sinto flaskless molding machines — FDNX-1, FBO-II, and FBO-III — to produce consistent, high-quality castings from 1 to 70 lbs with dimensional accuracy across high-volume production runs.
Located in Cadereyta Jiménez, Nuevo León, just 30 minutes from Monterrey and 150 miles from the U.S. border, AMC Foundry is a trusted nearshoring sand casting supplier for industrial applications including pumps, compressors, electric motors, pulleys, and agricultural equipment. ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Sand Laboratory
We have a specialized laboratory to ensure the consistency and quality of the green molding process, through the following tests:
-
Compactability
-
Strenght
-
Permeability
-
Moisture
-
Active Clay Testing
-
Screening Tests
AMC Foundry's sand laboratory monitors green sand properties on every shift to maintain casting dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Compactability is controlled within a target range of 38–42%, active clay content is maintained between 7–9%, and permeability is tested to ensure proper gas evacuation during solidification. These parameters are logged in real time and compared against control limits established for each part family.
Metallurgical Laboratory
To ensure the quality of our materials and meet the required specifications, we use cutting-edge technology in our metallurgical laboratory:
-
Spectometer for chemical analysis
-
FSL Lab for composition analysis
-
Pyrometer for temperature measurement
-
Brinell hardness for mechanical properties control
-
Metallographic microscope for microstructure analysis
-
QuiK-Lab E Heraeus Electro-Nite for measurement and control of metallurgical parameters
AMC Foundry's metallurgical laboratory provides full chemical and mechanical verification for every heat. Melting is performed in Inductotherm Dual-Trak induction furnaces, which allow precise temperature and composition control throughout the process. The optical emission spectrometer confirms alloy composition prior to pouring, while the QuiK-Lab E Heraeus Electro-Nite system provides real-time carbon equivalent measurement at the furnace. Brinell hardness testing is performed on every production lot, with results documented and traceable to the specific heat and mold batch. Microstructure analysis via metallographic microscope verifies graphite morphology and matrix structure against customer specifications.
